Daring mission... or deadly mistake?
Winter has been a disappointment to his royal IceWing family his whole life. When his sister, Icicle, runs away from Jade Mountain Academy, fleeing terrible crimes and possibly planning to commit more, Winter knows that they both need a second chance to make things right -- if only he can find her.
Winter’s new clawmates, Moon, Qibli, and Kinkajou, won’t let him make this dangerous journey alone. They don’t seem to understand that IceWings, the most superior of all dragon tribes, can fix their own problems. When their search leads the dragonets straight into Queen Scarlet’s vicious talons, Winter is grateful to have some help. But even the bravest dragons can’t follow him to the Ice Kingdom, where he’ll have to face the greatest threat of all: his own family.

Wings of Fire, book seven, Winter Turning is a fantasy by Tui T. Sutherland and is about an IceWing named Winter who goes to the Jade Mountain Acadamy. Jade Mountain Acadamy is a school that the Dragonets of Destiny created after the war to try to bring peace between the tribes. Winter's sister, Icicle, tried (but did not succeed) to kill the Dragonets of Destiny for the evil Queen Scarlet in order to get back their long lost brother Hailstorm. When Winter realizes that Hailstorm is alive, after years of thinking that he was dead, he sets out to ask Queen Glacier of the IceWings (Winter's aunt) if he can bring the IceWing army to rescue Hailstorm. Instead Moonwatcher, (NightWing) Qibli (SandWing) and Kinkajou (RainWing) convince Winter that it would make more sense to follow Icicle and stop her from killing anyone else. They go to the Rainforest because they think that Icicle is most likely there. When they find her, Queen Glory of the RainWings and NightWings takes her prisoner for murder. Winter, Qibli, Moon and Kinkajou decide that they don't need to keep an eye on Icicle any more because Queen Glory has her safely asleep with a sleeping dart. They sneak out of the Rainforest to try to find Hailstorm before Queen Scarlet kills him. On the way they meet a very odd SkyWing named Pyrite who says that she might know where Queen Scarlet is. Pyrite helps to find Queen Scarlet and they find her but what if Hailstorm is in the strangest prison anyone could imagine? What if Hailstorm isn't actually Hailstorm at all?

I think wings of fire winter turning is the best book in the series I’ve read it eight times it is a very exciting adventure
Winter has tried his whole life to be of use to his family, but he has failed time and time again. When his sister reveals to him that his lost brother is alive, Winter is determined to find him, the only member of his family he loves. But he isn't counting on his new friends insisting to come along with him. This book is amazing. The author does a really good job of capturing Winter's constant heartbreak and self-loathing, and his new experiences with dragons he thought he couldn't trust.
